Hello everybody!

I just recentcly pulled out my old dax from storage in the garage.
There was a mustang in the way, but now that one is sold.
I thought it is about time to give this one some attention.

It ran fine a couple a years ago, but then just died on me when riding the small roads.

So yesterday I checked for malfunctions. (it is a 1976 st70)

No spark at breaker points, sometimes very weak spark at spark plug, being put to the cylinderhead.

It has a new replaced plug, new spark plug rubber head.
And a brand new ignition coil.

Replaced ignition switch with a button with 2 connections, one for the red wirem and one for the black wire, works as a second kill switch.
No problems before with this.

This is what I experienced, when fiddling around yesterday.
I did get a healthy spark, I accidently put the the killer button I mentioned on the frame, and there was a spark there, but also a spark at the spark plug, some weird earthing going on here.

Also I found a red wire inside the fram close to the ignition switch.
it was red with a white line on it.

It ran fine a couple of years ago, now no spark at all.

Need help?
Anybody?

Thanks!

Klas
