    not using an air filter

    how would not using an air filter affect a stock ct and would any adjustments have to be made?

    Well......................... It would basically wipe out all of your efforts. From a stock standpoint, the entire air intake system was designed for a certain airflow and restriction. This includes the airbox, filter element, and rubber intake that goes up into the body.

    Tuning must be done with the final running configuration in place. I know it is a pain - but soon you will be able to do remove/replace in under 2 minutes.

    adjustments yes! well for starters it'll run lean(will need play with the jetting to correct)and in no time flat you'll be redoing the top end if you intend to ride anywhere within 200 miles of a spec of dirt

    Timely thread for me... I'm missing the end caps, element, & bolt. Is there anything around the house I can use as a temporary filter while I shop around for pieces? (I just got the bike days ago & it's really hard to stay off of it.:-)

    i have seen a sock on a ct70.it would work till you buy a real filter.

    Oh yes a clean sock,not the ones you wore 8 hours @ work..maybe a golf or tennis ball in the bottom for weight ballast too!so the sock wont suck in.go to ebay 4.99each or buy 5 @ a discount.i just bought 5 for 21.99 shipped.jrmotorsports is the seller.he has some nice stuff.i picked up a green tipped exhaust from him for cheap shipped in three days from china.
