Thread: paint question

i was wondering if anyone had any experience with the paint kits from vintage honda paint did it work out ok? and also it states the kit is complete for 1 bike, i need to paint 1 complete bike and the forks on another do you think 1 kit will do both? thanks

My bike was painted with one of these kits and the painter said there was paint left over. He wasn't specific about about how much was remaining but he did 3 coats on each part.

When I recieved the kit I took a quick inventory and was blown away by it's organization, labeling, and step by step directions. I even contacted him afterwards when the painter wanted to know the brand of paint and he answered instantly. When I picked up the finished parts the painter said it went perfectly and was really impressed with the premixed parts. Candy colors can be difficult to shoot and run easily. I chose one of the best painters in the area and he did a great job.

I too used one of Don's kits for my Blue-Green bike. Plenty of paint and he was quick to answer a paint question my painter had about the paint ratio's.
You should have plenty of paint for a extra set of forks.

I used one of his paint kits too. mostly for touchup work very complete and you could maybe paint a bike and most of a 2nd bike with it. Great kit I will buy again. Grant

I agree -- I used the topaz orange -- I had enough to do almost another bike . If your doing it yourself watch the number of candy coats .
Each coat makes it darker .

how many coats are normal for a paint job????

My buddy did 3 coats of candy -- Turned out a little dark . I used 2 & turned out nice . Just read his instructions - well .
