Thread: rear shock question

I'm in the process of rebuilding some rear shocks on a KO and have a question on the rubber bushings.I have rebuilt several and haven't had this problem before.The lower bushing seems to have to large of an opening in the I.D. The metal bushing insert just falls out.It seems in the past they were always a snug fit.Beth confirmed the part number is correct but it is a superseded part number so i'm not sure.
Lower bushing - 52489-056-000
Upper bushing - 52495-098-000
I bought two sets of these awhile back and didn't have any problem with the last rebuild.I'm wondering if maybe Honda put the wrong part in the bag or the superseded number is incorrect.The bushing goes in the shock nice and snug but the metal bushing insert is way too small.I realize there is a difference in the lower and upper,but upper is fine.

Did some checking and the bushing is definetly wrong.Anyone have a different part # for the lower ?

Finally solved.I just got a new set from the Dr. and all is good.These however came in a zip lock with no part # but are perfect.
I had double checked the part # on the others i got from NEVC and part # was correct per parts manual but I.D. was way too large.Either parts Manual has wrong # or it was a factory screw up.
