    Rear Sprocket

Does anyone know how much side to side play there should be in the rear sprocket or should it be tight? With just a retaining ring holding it on I am assuming there should be some play??

    Thanks,

    Dean

Mine is pretty snug. Moves just a bit, cuz it is mounted in the rubber.
there should be some "flex" as opposed to "movement". The rubber is only there to absorb the shocks of starting, shiftin, etc. You can get new rubber I believe from Dr. ATV if yours is kinda loose.

There should be very little lateral play. That snap ring fits pretty tightly ro the sprocket face. A little bit of movement within the rubber cushions is normal, replace them if the sprocket can be easily twisted by hand. Both the rubber cushions and the snap ring can be sourced new and they're cheap.

I checked my ST90 rear sprocket. It flaps around like a mackeral in a bucket of kerosene.
