    shift drum bolt torque

I put the shiftdrum in the engine case half (stator side of engine) after cleaning and put in the bolt and start tightening it down. When I tighten it down all the way the shift drum locks.
How tight should the bolt be?
I've got a clymer manual and a honda shop manual. Both are near worthless because they show you how to take stuff apart. Assembly instructions are just to reverse the disassembly instructions.

The fixing bolt has to be tight or it would back-out, obviously. Tightenting torque should not have any effect on shift drum action... if everything is assembled correctly. There's a special washer, described as "collar, 12.2mm" that goes under the lockbolt. It's easy to overlook this, or mistake it for just another flatwasher.
