    Silver Tag VIN tag

Any and all of you out there that have a Silver Tag in their possession. Can you take a look at the VIN tag on the steering tube. Is the tag a metal/aluminum/tin makeup or is it a decal/plastic adhesive tag? There seems to be differing opinions and thought I'd ask everyone.

So far a couple of people say metal and a couple say decal. Just needing to clarify if you could look.

    Thanks Karen, Dennis, Don, etal.

I used to think the Silver Tag was a decal..I just had not looked that close. There are no rivets. I will also try to show an edge pic using Harry's flower tip!lol!! It's thick. The magnent stuck hard. I was surprised it wasn't aluminum....BUT, The magnent could be picking up metal underneath the tag and it could be aluminum which is what it looks like...It's stuck really well to the bike and I don't want to lift it.

Slow night tonight, went out to the garage, looks like a metal or alum tag about the thickness of the side badges maybe the same construction.

That was my thought after reading Karen's post. Thanks Grant for checking.

I've never had the tag off - but I agree with Grant - It looks like a tin type material . Need someone that has one already boogered up .

Mine is off the bike to paint and it is the same material as a black tag, at least in thickness and feel. It just glued on.

Jamie, sent you an e-mail earlier, most of my tags are off my bikes. I checked, and they are non magnetic either aluminum or tin. Pulled out the micrometer and the thickness is about 0.010 " in a spot where there wasn't any glue. I wouldn't worry to much about the actual thickness. Have you printed from my latest art work yet? In the e-mail suggested you could get a roll of tin or aluminum flashing from the hardware store. I just went and checked the thickness of the stuff I bought it was 0.013". Can't tell the difference.

Got it thanks. Haven't spoken to Daniel today, market was crazy and didn't have time. Will make a point of stopping by or at least calling tomorrow. Thanks again!
