Thread: throttle cable

Sorry for the newbie question, but I can't figure out how to disconnect the throttle cable from the top of the carburetor. (my nephew washed the bike with the spark plug out)

Unscrew the cap on the carb and remove the slide with the cable still attached. Compress the spring inside the top of the slide toward the carb cap and remove the metal retaining plate inside the slide, then press the inner cable downward toward the bottom of the slide. Move it toward the larger end of the keyhole and it should lift straight out.
