Ryan, I know we just checked the rear sprocket and it was a 38. What is the front (14 or 15)?

No your cool bud. The HKO has a bigger sprocket cause it has 1 less horse power then the KO.

The HKO has a 45 tooth rear sprocket. I thought it was because of the different gear ratio rather than 1 HP less. I actually did not know the 2 engines had differences in HP.

From what the manual states the KO is a 5hp and the HKO is a 4hp.

How does that happen? Arnt the bore and stroke the same?

I'm not sold on that claim either. Same bore and stroke equals same horse power. The difference in sprocket sizes has to do with the difference in internal gearing (3 versus 4 speed).

Gearing has a lot to do who horsepower and torque. The HKO is geared totally different then the 3 speed. Maybe the KO has more power and the HKO has more torque? Maybe we can get someone elses knowledge in this.
