    Question 155cc CT frame mods?

Hi there, anyone know what frame modifications would be needed to get this engine into my 73 CT? PS I have very little mechanical knowledge, and just basic tools. Thanks in advance, Notsoquickeh

    155cc Engine, WITH LIGHTS!

may want to ask the vendor. I do know you'll have to trim either the motor cases or the swingarm and modify the exhaust. Obviously you're going to need to rewire the whole thing to run CDI as well.

Thanks for the reply, I think this may be over my head. I was looking at the wiring kit, TB162 12v Trouble-Free Wiring kit and this engine looks more my speed 125cc Engine, with Electric Start, Clutch 4 speed Thanks again

That engine has the wide style top mount, which means cutting the swingarm and frame / engine mount area is needed

Stock exhaust also wont bolt up

Yeah that is beyond my capabilities at this time, I am learning lots by reading past threads and have been humbled by creativity shown by the members here. I do not have a big shop or lots of equipment at my disposal, just a shed and a stubborn determination to be a little different. What would you recommend for a total noob like me, looking for plug and play engine/electrical upgrades? I live just outside Vancouver, so shipping/duty/@#$%ing HST have to be considered as well. Budget is about $1500.00? Thanks again

That 125 with electric start looks kinda cool.. Does anyone have experience with this brand (Zongshen) motors? What kind of reliability could one expect?

I've run the 150cc and the 160cc, both failed very early. I'd steer clear of the high compression chinese engines, but that is just me

Fast trails performance was a great contact. They are located in Ontario but your shipping will still be pretty high. The HST wont be in until June, but I suspect you'll pay it one way or the other

The 125cc and 110cc seem to be more reliable and bolt directly in. The 140cc also bolts directly in but is a high compression engine

Some people have had good luck with the high hp high compression engines, I just didn't personally so I don't recommend them

If you go with an electric start engine, you'll probably need to fab up a battery box for a wider battery. I did this on one CT and it worked good

    Check these guys out:

Thanks for all the good info, I found a guy who sells Lifan dirt bikes and scooters on the North Shore (about 50 km away). I am going to try and get him to order an engine for me and save myself the shipping costs etc. I will still probably break down and get that wiring kit as I need almost all that stuff anyway.

are you riding this bike on road or off road?

the lifan 125cc would probably have enough power for city streets

This bike will be mainly street, maybe a dirt road or two. I live in a hilly area and I weigh in at around 260 lbs, so I need some grunt.
