Thread: 3 speed to 4 speed trans conversion questions

I also have a gear listed on ebay right now. I have a thread in the for sale on ebay section. The 4 speeds use a 22 tooth gear while the 3 speeds use a 24 tooth.

thank you both for the replies, after looking over the diagrams I know exactly what you are talking about and feel like an idiot for overlooking it. this conversion is getting less and less affordable. parts I have so far alone set me back $60.

60 for a complete 4-spd tranny is a very good deal IMO. And if you need to add on a gear and wind up under 100, you still did very good. You can always sell the 3 spd tranny and gear to recoup some costs...

trans gears, shift fork, drum- $60
kick start gear- $30
seals/ gaskets- $35
rear sprocket- $20
drive sprocket- $10
kicker shaft- $20

$175 :/

just seems like alot of work/ money for one more gear. maybe I should wait til I have enough money to go big bore while im at it.
