Can a CT70 K0 headlight bucket and speedo be installed on a K1?

Is it possible to install the headlight bucket with speedometer from a CT70 K0 on a K1?

The headlight mounting ears appear smaller on the K1?

Has anyone ever done this or seen this type of mod?

    Thanks!

It will fit and look different than a K0. The ears on the K1 lead upwards a bit and make the bucket look higher and tighter to the bars

It can be done though, my K1 had a K0 bucket on it. I did this because the K1 bucket was damaged and had a K0 bucket sitting around

You also don't have to deal with sealed beam replacement bulbs with the K0 style

    Thanks for the responses!

P.C or a_smerek, do either of you have any other pictures/views of the bikes with the K0 buckets on the K1 forks?

I can now see that the headlight ears on the K1's are definitely mounted up higher overall on the upper fork tubes and I have to decide if I like the K0 bucket mounted up that high. I really do like the look of the K0 bucket in general, to me the K0 bucket has a softer more retro look due to it's shape and matched color and I really like it compared to the K1 bucket!

Anyhow, I would just like to see some additional views of the K0 bucket with the K1 forks to make sure I really like it before I commit to sourcing and purchasing the speedometer and K0 bucket and having it painted to match!

Are there any other issues or incompatibilities with using the K1's wiring, lighting or speedo cable with the K0 style speedometer? Would the K1 ears have to be bent in any way to accomodate the use of the K0 bucket?

    Thanks!

Width is not a problem. If anything, the K1 ears make life easier in that regard. Speedo cable length is different, but you already have a K1 cable. Wiring might differ, but only the presence, or lack, of a neutral light.

Attachment 6919A 69 ct90 speedo like Grant has on his shoehorn project, see pics in his thread.he has a 80 mph speedo with the neutral bulb, which would allow you to retain that first year run on the neutral light.and allow you breathing room [80 mph]for engine mods in the future!!!LOL.
