    Converting to 12V

    Hello,

Going to put a GPX 125 into my CT70K2 this spring and I need to know what I need from dr.atv to convert my bike to 12V.

    I need:
    Engine
    12V Bulbs
    This Harness ENGINE_SWAP_WIRING INSTALLING_A_CDI ENGINE_IN_POINTS TYPE_BIKE CT70K0_to_76 all_Z50A_MODELs (SUB_W_1)
    This Rectifier
12 VOLT REGULATOR RECTIFIER COMBINATION UNIT (214W)
    And this pigtail
    12V_or_6V CT70 REGULATOR RECTIFIER_PIGTAIL CLICK FOR_INSTRUCTIONS (SUB_W_12/12/6/6)

    Anything I have missed?

    Ah yes thanks

but all of that is what is needed correct?

    Steven

I should mention the engine comes with CDI and coil too. It is a CDI type flywheel that will power lights.

At the end of the day the wiring in a ct comes down to common sense

If it were me I'd run all the electrical off the battery and eliminate the key

Use the stator to power the battery to 12VDC power off the regulator

Run everything else off the 12V DC power

I was never a fan of the dual AC and DC system

If you are broke down somewhere and can't power a headlight what good is the battery?

I can send you my schematic for a DC only system less charging

It will be the easiest way to do the wiring, just dont leave the lights on when you are not riding

Make sure you have a 12V flasher for the signals if you have them and all 12V bulbs

So would the battery not charge then? and I don't have signals on this bike nor plan on needing them. How is it easier and wouldn't the lights always be on unless the battery is disconnected?

The battery will charge off the lighting stator through the voltage regulator

Everything else will be from the battery though the key switch

The key has a running and running + lights position

This is how you turn off the lights from DC only

Send me a PM with your e-mail address

I will forward you a schematic with details

Still confused on what he did.

Maybe wiring isn't my strong point I will install engine and will take pictures if I need anymore help. But have I outlined what I will need properly?
