Thread: extended swingarm or not....

i am doing a semi restore with fresh paint job and few new parts going to put a lifan 120cc in it also....my question is does anyone have the extended swingarm? and what are the perks to it does it make for a smoother ride? i am 6'2 240 not a small guy by no means i look like a gorilla humping a football on ct70........

I rode a CT with an extended swingarm. Does it make a big difference? well maybe

At high speeds (60mph+) it may be a bit more stable, but in any case everything else on the bike is not really suited for those speeds

If you are building a project to maintain high speeds you should probably do it

A stretch of more than a few inches causes issues with how the bike looks, how you mount the tailight bracket to the rear fenders, and brake arm issues

If you want to do a fun project, make the bike look cool, etc... do it

As for benefit in performance, probably something to be gained but not significant

At 240lbs you can certainly buckle a frame with hard riding, I weigh less and have buckled a frame riding offroad
