    Just found this forum, i like it! I have a 1972 SL70 motor, looking to convert to newer CDI. I have an 06 CRF70 crank, stator, cylinder, head and other goodies. My question is, will the 4 speed main and countershafts fit into a new case, or do i have to modify my old case to fit the CDI stator backplate (notching)? Any ideas?

    trans will fit, use the fork assembly also. keep an eye on your thrust washers. hope you have good luck with that particular transmission. From experience. it will not hold up if you beat up on it.
