Has anyone custom fit the BMX style handle bars (like on pit bikes) on a ct70? If so ,how and do you have some pics? Thanks

I don't have any pix, however, BMX type bars came right from Honda on the `79-`82 bikes. All you'd need are the riser/clamps + the bars and they can be installed on any CT70 except a K0/HK0. Those have the one-piece aluminum triple clamp.
Yeah I have a 71 HKO so i'm probably SOL! Thanks for the reply.
You could always source a later model front end, it'll bolt right in. Anything from a K1 or later will work and you'll get better front suspension to boot.
I just recently got it all put back together and don't really want to spend the $. Maybe I will just get some rebar and bend the stockers to my liking!!!! Probably not!
Easy to do.
Here is a link to a proper top triple clamp http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Honda...spagenameZWDVW that you can simply bolt on. - $20
Then, go to a mc wrecking yard and get two 7/8" bar clamps from most any early motorcycle (there are a lot of differences and finishes) I got mine for under $10.
Then any set of bars you want, plus you will need a new throttle, levers, etc. I adapted the hi/lo and horn switch (just needed a couple of small holes).
You will appreciate the handling of better bars. I used bars off of an old Honda I had laying around, but mine will take any 7/8" bar. The difficulty with BMX bars, is that they are pretty narrow where the clamp fits, and the holes in the stock triple are pretty wide. You may have to do some searching for that. I also got lever clamps that had holes threaded for mirrors, since I wanted it street legal. Cleans up the bars a bit. They are available from DR ATV.
