mini ADV build for Oz to Europe

hi new here, but i am going to build up a bike for an ADV ride from australia to europe on a ct70 ,all i have is a frame from a early 70.s vintage bike ,i have been reading all about motors ,by the sounds of it the chinese ones arent too reliable, will a ct110 honda engine fit ,these are easly available in australia,i want some good suspension, maybe disc brakes at least on the front also panniers, maybe soft, maybe aluminum ,low exhaust may be the go ,any one got ideas on larger fuel capacity, without bolting on a tank like chucklr , has any one built a dakar style ct 70,this would be pretty cool
i wont be doing it for a couple of years as i am already riding about on my klr 650,but i want to start the project and tinker with it to get it sorted,so any ideas would be great
    cheers dave

You need to read this thread on ADV Rider - or was it your inspiration?

Lots of good info. All you need is a psychiatrist now . . .

To my knowledge (I've never seen one in flesh) the ct110 engines do not fit (different mounting bolt pattern).

The (older) Wave engines actually do fit. Look for the ZN100E engine numbers. They are a similar breed than the Nice engine (ZN110E). Next to identical, except for the shorter cylinder and stroke (100cc). Most of them are semi-auto (contrary to the Nice), some have electric start.

Sydney to London on a moped called Dot - ADVrider

I read this ride report and I am just amazed to say the least...That is just unbelieveable, but so cool. He is an awesome writer and really makes the reader feel the trip...I hope he and Dot make it all the way and that he keeps her forever. I did learn what a Postie was...I had always wondered about that...

Custom build/fit a tank to fit over the cross member so you won't have to repack every time you fuel.

Throttle lock and sunline grand touring grips. Next on my list because I have them on my klr650.

Trail tech speedo because a stock speedo can't handle the vibes or give accurate speed with the higher hp.

Custom seat with stiffer foam. My ass was killing me!

Learn how to fix, mod, repair your bike from top to bottom. All tools you use as you work on it go into the saddlebag. Pull tools from saddlebag to work on bike. As you need a tool and it ain't there put it in when done.Something the Natethepostman should have done before he headed out.

Friends! Make them on the road. You may need them on the way back.

Juice will give you a password next time he's near a puter.

Next long ride on the 70 will be to biketoberfest in Daytona. I'm currently looking for a riding partner.

Next time I'm filming babes on the 70 will be labor day at the Sandy Hook rally.http://labordaybikerparty.com/

I'm good on tires and oil. A used set of soft saddlebags would be nice. Mine have exhaust burn holes in it.

Can you join me for Daytona Biketoberfest?

    chuckklr04,
Can you give me an estimate of how much weight you were carrying on your Sturgis trip?
Tools, camping gear, clothes, spares, fuel, etc?
    Thanks,
