    Steering Stop

Does anybody out there reproduce a steering stop? I've made a couple myself but it takes a couple hours and I was wondering it anybody made them.

Did a search and found that Racerx says no one makes a ready to weld on stop. Sounds like I'll have to make another one.

I have to replace a stop on one of my bikes and I cut one out of a real rust bucket. I haven't had it welded back on yet and have it readily available. Here are some basic dimensions. The part is T shaped the top of the T is 1.00 inches across and 0.585 high. The stem of the T is 0.60 inches across and 0.45 inches high. The total height of the T is the 0.585 plus the.45 dimension or 1.00 when I measure it straight out with my calipers. There is also a chamfer on each corner of the top of the T. The chamfer is 0.2 x 0.2 inches. The thicknes of the piece is 0.175 inches and the stem portion of the T protrudes forward about 1/16 of an inch or 0.0625 inches, The part is also concave and matches theradius of the fork goose neck that it is welded to. PM me if you need more info. If my description isn't clear, send me a PM and I'll send you a dimensioned sketch.

When I made mine I bent the curve first then cut the T out and then made the offset for the lower end. The hardest part is making the offset. At least for me. I used 3/16x 1" flat stock.

Mike, how did you do the offset. Did you just file it down on opposite sides before you made it concave?

Grant"s idea is way better, I feel alittle stupid I didn't even think of using tubing. His way is about a 30 min job.
