Thread: Z50/Monkey Exhaust Fit CT70?

Didnt want to start a whole thread for this but will it? Im sure the mounting bracket will be different but otherwise should it bolt on fine without hitting or getting in the way of anything? Im talking about aftermarket z50 exhausts. Ex. An Over exhaust or something similar with low sweeping pipe.

It's a trial & error situation with most Z50 pipes. Some will fit but, the end result may or may not be to your liking. The few Z50 pipes I've seen fitted to CT70s tend to sit lower than their CT70 counterparts. That can cause problems as they lack heat shielding and at the price of an Over Racing exhaust, it'd be downer to find that your right leg needs an asbestos wrap to prevent barbecuing(!). The exhaust in the photo looks like it'll fit with little more than repositioning the slip collar and/or fabbing a small adapter to bride between the slip collar and your RH upper shock mount. As with most aftermarket pipes, say "goodbye" to the RH buddy peg.

Thats another thing I was keeping in mind was the buddy pegs but it will be going on a 1980 that doesnt have any but I also have an older swing arm in case I wanted to add them.

The bike is going to be lowered with 250mm shocks so maybe it might be worth a shot If I can find something cheap. Monkeys seem to have nicer exhausts than ct's. Well at least to me.

If it's not going to require rebending, I may try it. If it does, I can always sell it I assume?
